The partnership, which kicks off in Newcastle, focuses on teaching tradespeople how to utilize AI for time-consuming office tasks. According to Kate Alessi, Vice President at Google UK & Ireland, the tools are designed to convert handwritten notes into professional proposals, transform voice memos into prioritized task lists, and turn rough sketches into 3D renderings.
This effort aligns with Google’s broader 'AI Works for Britain' initiative, which supports the government’s target of training ten million people in AI skills by 2030. Alessi noted that effective adoption of these technologies could grant self-employed workers the equivalent of an extra day of productivity each week, helping them reclaim time lost to paperwork and business management.
