The renovated space draws visual cues directly from the brand’s signature packaging, incorporating a bronze mesh ceiling and custom fixtures that mirror the silhouette of a Nutella jar. Richard Fossali, Vice President and General Manager of Fannie May and Nutella Café, stated that the redesign aims to honor the brand’s history while refining the flow for visitors. The interior now includes distinct zones for merchandise, dining, and streamlined ordering to reduce wait times.
Culinary additions include Nutella Tiramisu cups, mocha frappes, and a variety of gelato flavors developed with partner Vero Gelato. Guests can also now customize their experience by adding Nutella Peanut Spread to existing menu staples. Beyond the food, the location continues to offer personalized Nutella jars and an expanded line of branded merchandise. As the café approaches its tenth anniversary in 2027, management plans to further integrate mobile technology, allowing customers to join digital waitlists and schedule pickups, signaling a push toward greater operational efficiency on one of Chicago’s busiest thoroughfares.
