B&H Opens Dedicated Virtual Production and XR Hub in New York

New York-based retailer B&H Photo Video has launched a dedicated category for Virtual Production and Extended Reality (XR) equipment, marking a strategic shift to support cinema, broadcast, and educational sectors. The initiative includes a comprehensive online resource hub and a physical demonstration facility located within the company’s Manhattan superstore.

The new category centralizes specialized technology, ranging from LED volume processors and VFX media servers to motion capture sensors and reality capture scanners. By consolidating these high-end tools, B&H aims to streamline the procurement process for professionals building out complex production environments. Beyond equipment sales, the company has opened its Studio Technology Center, a dedicated space where clients can test hardware and consult with the retailer’s in-house engineering team on project scalability.

To bridge the knowledge gap for newcomers, the company introduced an educational hub featuring case studies, how-to guides, and tutorials. This content library is bolstered by partnerships with industry leaders, including ROE Visual, Absen, disguise, and Sony. These collaborations allow the retailer to provide direct access to the specialized gear required for modern LED volumes and interactive media labs. The platform is expected to expand its inventory and educational resources as virtual production techniques continue to integrate into mainstream commercial and broadcast workflows.
