Purecore Metals Targets Athabasca Basin in Yurchison Property Option

Purecore Metals has signed a non-binding letter of intent to acquire up to a 100% interest in the Yurchison uranium property from Skyharbour Resources. The deal targets a 35,028-hectare site in Saskatchewan’s Wollaston Domain, a region historically explored for uranium, molybdenum, and base metals since the 1960s.

The Yurchison property sits roughly 75 kilometers south of Cameco’s Rabbit Lake operation, with Highway 905 providing direct access to the claims. Geological mapping identifies the area as being underlain by Wollaston Supergroup metasedimentary gneisses. While historical exploration—including airborne electromagnetic and gravity surveys—occurred largely between the 1960s and 1980s, the site remains significantly underexplored by modern standards. Previous prospecting near historical trenches yielded samples containing 0.09% to 0.30% U3O8 and molybdenum concentrations between 2,500 and 6,400 ppm.

Purecore intends to transition the current letter of intent into a binding definitive agreement following a period of due diligence. The transaction requires board approval from both companies and regulatory clearance from the Canadian Securities Exchange. Beyond its uranium potential, the property is considered prospective for SEDEX-style lead-zinc mineralization and pegmatite-hosted rare earth elements, building on data from aerial surveys conducted as recently as 2023.
