Louisiana Awards Top Tier 1 Rating to Every Child Ready PreK Curriculum

The Louisiana Department of Education has granted the Every Child Ready curriculum a Tier 1 "Exemplifies Quality" rating, marking the state’s highest endorsement for early childhood instructional materials. This designation confirms the program’s rigorous alignment with state standards and provides a new benchmark for PreK classrooms across the region.

The state’s decision follows successful pilot programs in Ascension Parish, where educators reported significant improvements in classroom dynamics and student outcomes. Over a single year, participating teachers recorded higher scores in the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS), alongside a measurable reduction in behavioral disruptions. Data from the Acadience Preschool Early Literacy Indicators (PELI) screener further demonstrated that students using the new framework outperformed peers who were taught using the previous Tier 1 curriculum.

"We are thrilled that the Louisiana Department of Education has recognized Every Child Ready with this rating," said Kelly Stuart, President and CEO of Collaborative Classroom. "This approval empowers educators with the evidence-based tools needed to nurture literacy and social development, ensuring children move toward kindergarten with a seamless path to success."

Beyond the local results in Ascension Parish, the curriculum boasts strong performance metrics, with 89 percent of participating children meeting kindergarten-readiness standards—a figure that sits well above the national average of 47 percent. Collaborative Classroom, the nonprofit behind the program, notes that 90 percent of instructors reported higher confidence in their teaching practices after implementation. This latest rating joins the organization's SIPPS curriculum, which is already approved for intensive reading interventions in Louisiana schools for grades 3–8.
