Joining Bernstein on the board are Yalonda Howze and Milad Alucozai, additions that bring deep expertise in legal strategy and computational biology to the institute. C-Path CEO Klaus Romero noted that these appointments arrive as the organization scales its efforts to address complex disease landscapes, ranging from pediatric inflammatory bowel disease to Parkinson’s.
Bernstein, a co-founder of BioCentury, brings nearly four decades of industry experience to the chair role, having served on the board since 2023. Howze, currently interim CEO of Generation Bio, offers a background in navigating the regulatory and legal complexities of genetic medicine. Alucozai rounds out the new appointments with his experience in AI-driven drug development and venture capital, specifically through his work with Pamir Ventures. These changes come as the institute pushes to modernize drug evaluation paradigms and reduce reliance on traditional animal testing models.
