Mohamed Lahna Reaches Las Vegas Ahead of Schedule in Coast-to-Coast Trek

Three days ahead of his projected timeline, Paralympic medalist Mohamed Lahna pedaled into Las Vegas, marking the successful conclusion of the 3,000-mile cycling leg of his 250 Triathlon Across America. He now faces a final 350-mile run to Venice Beach to complete a historic cross-country journey for charity.

After kicking off his endeavor with a 28.5-mile swim around Manhattan in June, Lahna navigated through 16 states and climbed over 100,000 feet. The journey proved grueling, as he contended with extreme desert heat and wildfire smoke despite having no formal cycling training. He maintained a pace of nearly 100 miles per day, a feat he describes as both exhausting and deeply rewarding. He is now preparing for the final transition to running, which he anticipates will be the most demanding phase of the challenge.

Beyond the physical test, the triathlon serves as a high-stakes fundraiser for Save the Children and the Challenged Athletes Foundation. Having already secured over $80,000, Lahna remains focused on his $250,000 target to support organizations that were instrumental in his own development, from his childhood schooling in Morocco to his emergence as a world-class adaptive athlete. A three-time Paralympian and medalist for both Morocco and the U.S., Lahna is using this cross-country effort to build momentum toward his pursuit of gold at the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games.
