The funding initiative covers essential repairs including roofing, HVAC installation, and energy efficiency upgrades. By supporting 20 local Habitat affiliates, Lowe's aims to address urgent housing needs that allow owner-occupied residences to remain safe and resilient. These projects prioritize disaster preparedness and fall-prevention modifications, directly assisting homeowners who otherwise lack the means to maintain aging properties.
Beyond direct funding, the partnership will expand through 20 commemorative events held at Lowe's retail locations this July. These gatherings serve as both a milestone celebration for Habitat’s half-century of service and a recruitment drive for local volunteers. Since the alliance began in 2003, Lowe's has contributed over $100 million to assist more than 20,000 families, building on a history of support for initiatives like the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project and the Let's Open the Door campaign.
