Deal most recently served as Vice President of Operations at First Majestic Silver, where he oversaw a diverse portfolio of mines and directed annual capital programs exceeding $300 million. His career includes senior roles at Nevada Gold Mines, OceanaGold, and Newmont Corporation. At Nevada Gold Mines, he managed processing operations at the Carlin Complex, focusing on complex sulfide ore treatment, including roasters and autoclaves.
Hycroft CEO Diane Garrett emphasized that Deal’s specific background in building and managing sulfide processing systems is critical to the company's strategy. The firm is currently pivoting toward the next phase of operations at its Nevada site, with a particular focus on the high-grade Brimstone and Vortex silver systems. Deal holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines and is a Qualified Person with the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration.
