Bosch Secures $225 Million CHIPS Funding for Roseville Chip Plant

The Roseville facility, which boasts four decades of semiconductor manufacturing history, has officially commenced sample production. Bosch intends to reach full commercial manufacturing of silicon carbide chips on 200-millimeter wafers by 2026. This timeline accelerates the company’s market entry, leveraging existing infrastructure and a skilled local workforce to bolster domestic supply chain resiliency for the automotive and industrial sectors.

Beyond federal support, the project received a $25 million California Competes tax credit. The initiative is part of a wider corporate strategy to invest $7.5 billion across U.S. operations through 2031, marking the company’s 125th anniversary in the country. Bosch currently employs over 300 people at the Roseville plant and is actively collaborating with Sierra College to cultivate a specialized technical pipeline for future growth.
