BayCare Completes Structural Phase for New Manatee County Hospital

The project, located north of the Manatee River, is set to open in 2028 as a full-service acute care center. Once operational, the 154-bed hospital will provide a broad spectrum of medical services, including cardiology, orthopedics, and neonatology. Notably, the facility will house a neonatal intensive care unit, nearly doubling the available capacity for specialized infant care in the county.

BayCare President and CEO Stephanie Conners emphasized that the building represents a long-term commitment to a region facing rapid population growth. The hospital will function as the centerpiece of a broader medical campus, integrated with the nearby BayCare HealthHub. That outpatient center, scheduled to open in late 2026, will consolidate primary care, laboratory services, and advanced imaging under one roof, creating a streamlined point of entry for residents. As construction proceeds, the facility aims to bridge existing gaps in local healthcare access, serving as the system's 17th hospital in West Central Florida.
