Ohio Teamsters Back Bipartisan Slate for 2026 Congressional Races

The Ohio Conference of Teamsters is throwing its weight behind incumbent Senator Sherrod Brown and a bipartisan group of House candidates for the 2026 election cycle. The organization, representing over 50,000 workers, has centered its endorsements on candidates who supported the Faster Labor Contracts Act this past June.

Pat Darrow, president of the union, emphasized that the endorsements prioritize legislative action over partisan loyalty. The union aims to support lawmakers willing to challenge corporate interests to secure middle-class union jobs. Every House incumbent on the list backed the Faster Labor Contracts Act, a bill designed to accelerate the bargaining process for newly organized workers seeking their first union contract.

In addition to Sherrod Brown, the union is backing a mix of Democratic and Republican representatives: Greg Landsman, Joyce Beatty, Michael Rulli, Max Miller, Marcy Kaptur, Mike Turner, Shontel Brown, Emilia Sykes, David Joyce, and Mike Carey. Brown, who has a history of collaborating with the union on pension protection and railway safety, has pledged to co-sponsor the Faster Labor Contracts Act in the Senate if re-elected. The union views this legislation as a critical benchmark for its political support heading into the November elections.
