Research conducted by Original Software reveals a significant gap in the digital transformation strategy of IFS users. While 53% of surveyed customers plan to shift to IFS Cloud within two years, the vast majority remain tethered to manual verification methods. Currently, 92% of these organizations rely on email chains and Excel spreadsheets to validate changes, with not a single respondent utilizing automated testing solutions.
This discrepancy creates a friction point during cloud upgrades, where the frequency of updates outpaces the capacity of manual oversight. Carl Andrews, CEO of Original Software, argues that traditional testing processes are ill-suited for the rapid cadence of modern ERP environments. By integrating its code-free, AI-led platform into the IFS ecosystem, the company intends to provide the security needed to manage frequent releases without compromising system stability or compliance.
Thusitha Gunaratne, Vice President of Product & Partner Strategy at IFS, noted that the partnership is designed to support users as they evolve their cloud deployments. For businesses, the shift to automated testing promises to mitigate the risks associated with high-stakes software changes. Original Software claims that its platform can reduce overall testing effort by 90%, allowing IT teams to focus on business-critical processes rather than administrative overhead.
