The S22 technology shifts the clinical focus from simple tooth alignment to the structural restoration of functional occlusion. According to Dr. Lu Jingting, a core member of the development team, many patients presenting with tooth loss or wear also suffer from mandibular retrusion and Three-Depth Malocclusion, characterized by deep overbite and excessive overjet. In such cases, traditional restorative dentistry often fails to correct the underlying jaw relationship, making the S22 approach a critical precursor to definitive treatment.
By integrating GS MART principles—previously reserved for orthodontic clear aligners—the platform creates a digital workflow that prioritizes three-dimensional mandibular repositioning. This methodology allows for a coordinated handoff between specialists. A patient entering through a general practice can undergo necessary repositioning before restorative rehabilitation, while those starting in orthodontics can be seamlessly referred for final tooth reconstruction. The project aims to harmonize the roles of orthodontists, prosthodontists, and general practitioners, ensuring that complex occlusal conditions are managed through a unified, sequential treatment plan.
