Avianca has spearheaded the relief effort by transporting nearly 120 tons of essential goods, including medicine, water, and hygiene kits, to the affected regions. The airline also facilitated the deployment of rescue teams and medical brigades, notably coordinating a specific aid flight in partnership with the Government of El Salvador. Simultaneously, GOL worked alongside Brazil's Ministry of Foreign Affairs to fly six tons of medical supplies, including 350,000 vaccine doses, directly to the crisis zone.
To maintain vital links to the country, Avianca launched two daily flights connecting Bogotá and Valencia, providing flexible travel options while operations at Simón Bolívar International Airport remain constrained. Public participation has surged through the LifeMiles loyalty program, where customers donated over 10 million miles. Abra Group confirmed it will match these contributions to fund the ongoing movement of emergency specialists. CEO Adrián Neuhauser noted that the group is working in lockstep with regional authorities and social organizations to ensure resources reach the areas of greatest need.
