The largest recall involves over 554,000 Kobalt yard power tools sold by Greenworks, which have triggered 34 reports of batteries sparking or catching fire during charging. Other major consumer electronics under scrutiny include Flaunt Magsafe chargers and two brands of heated insoles, Meisinuo and METASONO. These insoles have been linked to 31 reports of fires and explosions, resulting in at least 25 injuries, including severe second and third-degree burns requiring hospital intervention and skin grafts.
Household appliances and safety equipment also face critical alerts. Conair is recalling over 12,000 Cuisinart gas grills following reports of glass shattering during use, while Best Buy is pulling Insignia gas ranges due to a fire risk linked to accidental knob activation. Additionally, the CPSC identified life-threatening defects in BBRKIN biometric gun safes, Moodooy bed rails, and WonderStone infant walkers. Consumers are also cautioned to discard JNHCD combination smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, which may fail to alert users to active fires.
