Vitaminwater and My Code Expand Mural Documentary Series

Public art serves as a living bridge between cultural memory and modern community life. Vitaminwater and media agency My Code are launching the second season of Neighborhue, a documentary series that highlights how muralists in New York and Orlando use large-scale works to preserve local heritage and identity.

The new chapter, titled Still in Color, shifts the platform’s focus from restoration to the ongoing evolution of neighborhood narratives. By blending documentary video with editorial storytelling, the series profiles artists Don RIMX and Carlos Mateu, both of whom draw directly from the communities they depict. In Orlando, Don RIMX examines the role of his work El Chamán in grounding present-day experiences, while in Brooklyn, Carlos Mateu showcases El Paso Del Tiempo, a piece developed alongside local residents to track the neighborhood's transformation.

Hillary Horton, brand director at The Coca-Cola Company, noted that the project aims to connect audiences with stories rooted in authentic self-expression. My Code CEO Amani Duncan emphasized that the campaign succeeds by prioritizing artists who are native to the neighborhoods they represent rather than outside observers. Starting July 9 with the Orlando feature, the campaign will roll out across digital platforms including Remezcla, TikTok, and Instagram, providing a behind-the-scenes look at the creative processes that turn public spaces into cultural landmarks.
