Papaya Brings Inaugural World Solitaire Championship to National TV

Four hundred elite players converged in Miami to transform a classic digital pastime into a high-stakes spectator sport. The inaugural World Solitaire Championship, which concluded with a lightning-fast 31-second final victory, is moving from the arena floor to living rooms nationwide via a new one-hour televised special airing this summer.

The tournament, organized by mobile gaming leader Papaya, marks a shift for the industry by moving skill-based digital play into a physical, head-to-head format. Participants competed for a total prize pool of $300,000, culminating in a final showdown between top-seeded players Sidney and Oliver. The broadcast captures the tension of the multi-day event, highlighting the strategy and rapid-fire decision-making required to reach the world stage.

Oriel Bachar, CEO and co-founder of Papaya, framed the event as an effort to build a tangible community around digital mastery. Beyond the gameplay, the special features behind-the-scenes stories from the Miami arena. Viewers can find local broadcast times or access the full program through the company’s YouTube channel.
