Nubia Neo 5 GT Special Edition Brings Hybrid Cooling to Mobile Gaming

Nubia has unveiled its Neo 5 GT Special Edition, a smartphone targeting Gen Z gamers that features a hybrid cooling architecture. By integrating liquid and air-based thermal management, the device aims to maintain peak performance during long sessions, distinguishing itself from standard mobile hardware through a transparent, server-inspired design.

The core of the device is the AquaCore Cooling System, which utilizes a piezoelectric micropump and a three-layer cooling film to circulate AI server-grade coolant. This liquid loop works alongside an active fan and a 33,652 mm² dissipation area to move heat away from internal components. According to Bai Keke, Vice President of ZTE, the system draws inspiration from both esports PC design and industrial AI thermal management to ensure consistent frame rates.

Under the hood, the phone runs on a 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chipset, supported by up to 24GB of dynamic RAM and the NeoTurbo Engine. The hardware is housed in a chassis featuring 550Hz triggers and a flat-back design intended to improve ergonomics during play. A 6,210mAh battery powers the unit, with support for 80W fast charging and a dedicated bypass mode to reduce heat while plugged in.

The display is a 6.8-inch 1.5K AMOLED panel reaching a 144Hz refresh rate, complemented by an AI assistant dubbed Demi 2.0. This copilot offers automated chat and tactical coaching to assist players in real-time. The smartphone launches this July in Southeast Asia, with global availability to follow in Surge Black and Glacial Silver finishes, backed by a five-year software update commitment.
