Unit4 Launches No-Strings AI Initiative for Mid-Market ERP Users

Mid-market organizations can now test AI-driven enterprise resource planning without contractual obligations. Unit4 is opening access to its ERPx platform features, including the Advanced Virtual Agent, to any customer who registers by the end of 2026, aiming to lower the barrier for integrating intelligent automation into daily workflows.

The initiative, dubbed "AI for Your World," allows users to experiment with AI tools across finance, HR, procurement, and project management until August 31, 2027. Participants can choose to transition to a paid subscription at the end of the trial or simply cease usage of the tools. By removing the initial financial commitment, Unit4 aims to encourage businesses to move beyond manual, repetitive tasks and identify tangible use cases for AI.

Central to the offering is the Advanced Virtual Agent (Ava), which integrates with Microsoft Teams to handle natural language queries. This allows staff to access insights and complete tasks without switching between multiple software interfaces. To prevent unexpected costs, Unit4 has implemented a fair-use cap that accommodates standard daily operations. CEO Simon Paris noted that the program is designed to foster a new generation of "AI-enabled mid-market champions" by prioritizing experimentation over long-term contract lock-ins.

Technically, the company is positioning its ERPx as a "system of reason" rather than a mere data recorder. CTO Claus Jepsen emphasized that the platform remains model-agnostic, allowing for the integration of evolving AI capabilities without requiring a system rebuild. With built-in governance and data residency protections, the company seeks to address common enterprise concerns regarding auditability and public-LLM training. Customers who sign up before December 31, 2026, will retain full access to these features throughout the duration of the trial period.
