The Barcode Warehouse brings AI shelf monitoring to UK retail

UK-based integrator The Barcode Warehouse has partnered with ShopperAI to deploy computer vision across store estates, aiming to automate inventory tracking. By repurposing existing camera infrastructure, the system identifies stock gaps and planogram discrepancies in real time, moving away from traditional manual store audits.

The platform analyzes live video feeds to monitor product placement and availability, triggering alerts for staff when intervention is required. This integration seeks to minimize lost sales by providing store managers with immediate visibility into floor execution. ShopperAI’s software will now be featured at The Barcode Warehouse’s Innovation and Customer Experience Centre in Newark, where retailers can test the technology against their own operational requirements.

Jason Datt, retail technology sales lead at The Barcode Warehouse, noted that the initiative focuses on scaling visibility across large estates without requiring costly new hardware. Lanor Daniel, CEO of ShopperAI, emphasized that the partnership combines their vision platform with established deployment networks to accelerate the adoption of automated shelf management. The technology made its initial UK appearance at the Retail Technology Show 2026 earlier this year.
