Jessie and D’Lila Combs Launch Streetwear Brand Amid Family Turmoil

Nineteen-year-old twins Jessie and D’Lila Combs are launching their debut streetwear label, 12TWINTY1, attempting to carve out a professional identity independent of the intense public scrutiny surrounding their father, Sean "Diddy" Combs, who is currently serving a prison sentence at FCI Fort Dix.

The sisters insist their entry into the fashion world is the culmination of a three-year project rather than a reaction to the legal firestorm currently engulfing their family. While the Combs name offers immediate market visibility, the twins acknowledge that the association creates a complex hurdle for brand identity. D’Lila noted that their professional journey remains distinct from their father’s headlines, emphasizing a commitment to their own creative vision. The debut collection, titled 777, pays homage to personal family history, referencing the twins’ birth interval and the favorite number of their late mother, Kim Porter. Positioning the brand in the accessible streetwear market with pieces ranging from $34 to $119, the sisters are focusing on consumer connection rather than luxury prestige. Despite his incarceration, the twins report that their father continues to provide mentorship from afar, drawing on his own experience founding the Sean John label in 1998. Whether the brand can transcend the controversy surrounding its famous surname remains the central test for these young entrepreneurs as they navigate the industry.
