Damon attended the premiere of Christopher Nolan’s latest project, The Odyssey, alongside Alexia, 27; Isabella, 20; Gia, 17; and Stella, 15. While the actor joked about his own classic grey three-piece suit, his family commanded attention, with Barroso appearing in a black Gabriela Hearst gown while the daughters opted for diverse, floor-length styles. For Damon, the event was more than a professional milestone; it served as a reflection on the passage of time. He confessed that watching his children reach adulthood is both wonderful and emotionally demanding.
The actor’s connection to his family also bled into his performance in the film. He noted that the frequent, extended periods of separation from his children during production allowed him to easily tap into the longing and isolation experienced by his character. This protective instinct extends to his career choices, as Damon now prioritizes roles that keep him close to home. His pride in their individual paths is evident, particularly regarding his eldest daughter, Alexia, who has already established herself as a cinematographer on projects like The Last Duel and The Instigators. Reflecting on his role as a father to four daughters, Damon recently told host Amy Poehler that he considers himself lucky to witness their growth, calling them his favorite people.
