Evan Raff Named Chief Clinical Officer at Covera Health

Dr. Evan Raff, a radiologist and informatics specialist formerly of the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, has joined Covera Health as Chief Clinical Officer. He will oversee the company's Protect portfolio, focusing on leveraging diagnostic imaging to facilitate earlier detection of cancer and cardiovascular disease across national health plans.

Covera Health is scaling its operations following a recent merger with Medmo, aiming to bridge the gap between diagnostic accuracy and patient outcomes. Dr. Raff’s appointment is central to this expansion. He brings experience from one of the U.S.'s largest public health systems, where he managed specialty care for over 500,000 patients and implemented EMR-embedded clinical pathways. His background as a board-certified radiologist and associate professor at UCLA provides the technical foundation required to refine the clinical strategy behind the company’s population health initiatives.

The Protect programs are designed to intercept serious conditions before they escalate. For seniors, the initiative identifies markers of bone disease to mitigate fracture risks. For employers, the focus remains on early screening for breast cancer and cardiovascular conditions. By integrating these clinical insights into the patient journey, Covera intends to shift from reactive treatment to proactive disease management. Dr. Raff joins a clinical leadership team that includes Chief Medical Officer Dr. Richard Herzog and Chief Health Strategy Officer Dr. Rich Brown, with the collective goal of standardizing diagnostic quality nationwide.
