The integration allows analysts to move beyond viewing DNS as an isolated dataset. By mapping names to physical infrastructure, users can trace the evolution of a target’s footprint over time. This unified approach is designed to streamline security operations, from initial triage of suspicious domains to the proactive hunting of adversary networks. During a recent investigation into a USPS-themed phishing campaign, the platform identified hundreds of related domains and historical relationships that would have otherwise remained hidden.
Raj Sivasankar, Senior Director of Product Management at Censys, noted that security teams frequently struggle with intelligence gathered from disjointed tools. By consolidating DNS data with existing infrastructure insights, the company intends to provide a more cohesive view of external threats. This capability enables organizations to disrupt campaign-level infrastructure rather than reacting to individual indicators of compromise, offering a clearer picture of adversary activity as attacks grow increasingly automated.
