StarCompliance Overhauls Executive Suite to Accelerate Growth

Rockville-based StarCompliance is reshaping its leadership hierarchy as demand surges for AI-driven regulatory tools and digital asset oversight. The firm has installed a new CFO and CRO, while elevating internal veterans to CMO and General Counsel roles to bolster its position in the evolving financial compliance landscape.

Bill Chatterton joins the team as Chief Financial Officer, arriving with two decades of experience in private equity-backed software firms, most recently at Get Well. Alongside him, Alan Knepfer steps in as Chief Revenue Officer to oversee global commercial strategy. Knepfer draws on a 25-year tenure in the governance, risk, and compliance sector, including previous roles at Nasdaq and Salus GRC.

The executive expansion follows a period of rapid product development for the company. Over the past year, Star launched StarAssist, an AI-integrated compliance workflow tool, and introduced an enterprise-grade monitoring solution for prediction markets in partnership with Kalshi. These initiatives are designed to address the mounting complexity firms face regarding employee conduct and AI governance.

Internal promotions round out the reorganized leadership team. Lauren St. Amand, who joined the company in 2022, now serves as Chief Marketing Officer, while eight-year company veteran David Strauss has been appointed General Counsel. CEO Jennifer Sun indicated that this structural shift aims to deepen client partnerships and scale the company’s ability to manage emerging risks in increasingly volatile financial markets.
