The initiative, spearheaded by Vice President of Experience Deanna Patterson and Safety Manager Kevin Willey, aims to turn corporate values into tangible community support. Willey, a former police officer and certified CPR trainer, conducted the sessions to ensure residents could effectively respond to cardiac emergencies. His background provided a level of technical rigor and personal perspective that resonated with the participants.
To date, 31 residents have participated across two sessions. The program is designed to be inclusive; while many sought formal certification, those with limited mobility were encouraged to attend to gain critical knowledge and safety awareness. A third session is scheduled for the fall to reach additional residents. This effort highlights the company's shift toward community-driven projects, allowing employees to propose and lead initiatives that address specific local needs.
