IAA MOBILITY 2027 Sees Record Early Demand as Munich Secures Event Future

More than half of the exhibition floor space for IAA MOBILITY 2027 has already been reserved, signaling a record-breaking start for the event even before the official registration window opened. With over 100 companies pre-registering, the show is cementing its position as a global hub for the interconnected mobility ecosystem.

The surge in early reservations follows a successful 2025 iteration, where 750 exhibitors from 37 countries showcased over 350 world premieres. This momentum has prompted the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) and Messe München to extend their partnership, ensuring the event remains in Munich through at least 2031. VDA Managing Director Jürgen Mindel noted that the high volume of rebookings validates the current hybrid concept, which prioritizes sustainability and technology over individual vehicle displays.

Major industry players, including Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Google, have already confirmed their intent to return. The exhibitor landscape continues to diversify, with companies like Riese & Müller highlighting the integration of premium e-bikes alongside traditional automotive giants. Participant feedback remains exceptionally positive, with 83 percent of 2025 exhibitors recommending the show to others, up from 72 percent in 2023. As the event prepares for its September 7–12, 2027, run, organizers are emphasizing a visual shift toward a broader mobility ecosystem rather than a strictly automotive focus.
