With 45% of remaining upstream liquids value locked in regions with restricted access, governments are increasingly prioritizing partners who offer deep technical expertise over those simply providing capital. Breakthroughs in recovery technology allow firms to extract more from existing reservoirs, effectively extending the lifespan of assets that were previously considered near-exhausted.
