Templeton arrives with over two decades of experience in renewable energy and global supply chain operations. Previously, he served as Director of the Americas at NorSun, where he managed commercial activities for a 5GW ingot and wafer manufacturing project, and held leadership roles at CubicPV and 1366 Technologies. His expertise in navigating complex supply chains is intended to bolster United Solar’s efforts to integrate into the U.S. domestic manufacturing base.
The company’s Sohar-based facility, which began operations in January 2026, represents a strategic push to provide an alternative to traditional polysilicon sources. By positioning itself outside of Foreign Entity of Concern regions, United Solar aims to provide tier-one manufacturers with a reliable, transparent supply chain. The firm, founded in 2023 by Sam Zhang and backed by the Oman Investment Authority and the World Bank’s International Finance Corporation, views Templeton’s hiring as a critical step in securing its footprint within the American market.
