LIXTE Rebrands as NOMAD Power Solutions to Target AI Energy Bottlenecks

The artificial intelligence boom has collided with a physical reality: the power grid cannot keep pace with data center demand. To capitalize on this energy shortfall, LIXTE Biotechnology Holdings has completed a total corporate pivot, rebranding as NOMAD Power Solutions and beginning Nasdaq trading today under the ticker NMAD.

The transition marks a departure from the company’s history in cancer therapy research, shifting its focus entirely toward mobile, utility-grade battery storage. By acquiring NOMAD Transportable Power Systems, the firm aims to address the "power bottleneck" by deploying storage units via semi-trailers, allowing for instantaneous grid support that bypasses the lengthy construction timelines associated with traditional fixed infrastructure.

CEO Geordan Pursglove described the name change as a milestone in the company’s evolution, framing the move as a strategic entry into a multi-billion dollar market. While NOMAD enters a sector occupied by established players like Fluence Energy and GE Vernova, the company distinguishes its offering through the speed and flexibility of its truck-transportable energy assets. As of today, shares under the former symbol LIXT have been retired, and the firm’s future value now hinges on its ability to scale this mobile storage platform to meet the urgent needs of hyperscale data center operators.
