Morrisons hits 100-store milestone with Vusion digital labels

Morrisons has reached a significant operational milestone, completing the rollout of digital shelf edge labels across 100 stores. This transition replaces thousands of manual paper price updates with an automated system, allowing staff to shift their focus from routine maintenance to direct customer interaction and improved service delivery.

The implementation utilizes Vusion’s technology, which features a Pick to Light system. By triggering flashing lights on the digital tags, the platform guides online picking teams directly to the correct items, reducing errors and accelerating order fulfillment. Charlotte Rush, Senior Productivity Manager at Morrisons, emphasized that the shift is central to the company’s strategy for enhancing store efficiency.

The deployment follows Vusion’s recognition at the Retail Technology Show’s 2026 Innovation Awards. The company’s EdgeSense AI operating system was selected by a panel of industry experts, including Natalie Berg and Toby Pickard, for its ability to integrate ESLs, AI cameras, and sensors into a single network. Beyond automated pricing, the system assists retailers in managing inventory accuracy and minimizing shrinkage, marking a broader trend toward digital transformation in physical retail spaces.
