Starbucks technology executive John Elliott announces departure

John Elliott has stepped down from his dual role as EMEA Vice President for Technology and Supply Chain and Global Vice President for Licensed Technology at Starbucks. His departure, effective July 3, concludes a two-year tenure focused on digital transformation and supply chain optimization across international markets.

Reflecting on his time at the coffee giant, Elliott emphasized the human element behind technical infrastructure in a LinkedIn post. He credited the success of the company’s recent initiatives to the collaboration between internal teams, suppliers, and licensed partners. He specifically highlighted the contributions of the "green apron" staff, noting that their daily engagement with customers remains the bedrock of the brand’s identity.

Elliott leaves as the company continues its "Back to Starbucks" strategic pivot. He expressed confidence in the current leadership teams across the EMEA region to carry these operational changes forward. While he confirmed he is preparing for a new professional chapter beginning later this month, he has not yet disclosed his next destination.
