Kagurabachi World Tour Kicks Off with Los Angeles Premiere

Fans at Anime Expo in Los Angeles were the first to witness the opening 20 minutes of the highly anticipated Kagurabachi anime adaptation. On July 3, 2026, voice actor Taihi Kimura and key production staff gathered to discuss the series, marking the start of a global screening tour for the hit manga.

The event featured voice actor Taihi Kimura, manga editor Takuro Imamura, and producer Koichi Yasuda, who shared insights into the adaptation of Takeru Hokazono’s flagship Weekly Shonen Jump series. With a cumulative circulation exceeding 4 million copies, the manga has become a global phenomenon, prompting an all-star production effort led by the studio Cypic. Director Tetsuya Takeuchi and character designer Keigo Sasaki aim to translate the series' signature katana-focused action to the screen, a task the production team describes as their primary challenge.

During the panel, Kimura reflected on the difficulty of voicing the protagonist, Chihiro Rokuhira, noting the delicate balance required to portray the character's emotional depth. Producer Koichi Yasuda emphasized that the studio's core philosophy is to honor the original work while pushing the limits of action animation. Following the successful premiere in Los Angeles, the production team will continue the world tour with stops in Paris, Mannheim, Washington D.C., and New York. The full series is currently slated for an April 2027 release across platforms including Crunchyroll and MUSE.
