The series, penned by Grand Hotel creator Brian Tanen, centers on three suburban couples whose lives fracture following the murder of one of the husbands. Dobrev and Wesley will portray neighbors, Gwen and Scott, who find themselves on opposing sides of the ensuing investigation. Beyond their on-screen roles, both actors are serving as executive producers alongside a team that includes author Aggie Blum Thompson and Kapital Entertainment’s Matt Kaplan.
This project renews a professional history for all parties involved. Dobrev previously starred in the CBS comedy Fam, while Wesley appeared in both seasons of the anthology series Tell Me a Story, both of which were produced by Kaplan. Their collaboration serves as a high-profile reunion for the pair, whose off-screen relationship has evolved significantly since their early days on The Vampire Diaries. While Dobrev once admitted on a 2019 podcast that they initially clashed and did not get along during the first few years of filming, the two have since become close friends. A premiere date for the new series remains unannounced as production continues.
