Hansa Biopharma to address kidney transplant challenges in Boston

Maria Törnsén, COO and President of U.S. operations at Hansa Biopharma, will join Dr. Leonardo Riella of Massachusetts General Hospital for a fireside chat at the upcoming Wedbush PacGrow Renal Summit. The session, titled "Don't Be So Sensitive," focuses on expanding transplant access for highly sensitized patients.

The discussion is scheduled for July 8, 2026, at 1:10 PM EDT at the Newbury Hotel in Boston. Törnsén and Riella will examine the clinical hurdles associated with treating individuals whose immune systems present significant barriers to successful organ transplantation. Hansa Biopharma, based in Lund, Sweden, continues to promote its proprietary IgG-cleaving enzyme technology, which aims to address these critical unmet needs in transplantation and autoimmune care. The company currently utilizes its imlifidase platform to facilitate kidney transplants for patients who would otherwise face limited options due to high sensitization.
