Susan Krup Grunin Named Pinnacle Professional of the Year

From the halls of federal law enforcement to the pages of award-winning children’s literature, Susan Krup Grunin has spent a lifetime refining the art of mentorship. The Inner Circle recently honored the Naples-based author and former federal administrator as a Pinnacle Professional of the Year for her multifaceted career.

Dr. Grunin’s trajectory began in university classrooms at institutions including Loyola University Chicago and the University of Virginia, where she first identified the transformative influence of guidance on personal growth. Her professional rigor led her to become the youngest federal probation officer in U.S. history at age twenty-one. During a thirty-two-year tenure in federal service, she broke gender barriers in Washington D.C., serving as the first woman regional administrator within the Federal Probation System and contributing to witness protection initiatives.

Following her government service, she transitioned into human capital strategy and executive coaching, authorship, and oil painting. Her creative efforts are anchored by the Little MisFit book series, an intergenerational project focusing on resilience and self-confidence. With four volumes currently in print and a fifth installment, Life Is a Journey Not a Destination, scheduled for release in 2026, the series has earned accolades including the Global Book of Excellence Award. Through her company, SKG Creations, Grunin continues to blend professional instruction with creative expression, maintaining that the capacity for mentorship and learning remains vital well into retirement.
