Fibrosan Breaks Ground on Michigan Manufacturing Plant

A steady flow of regional officials and company executives gathered in Cassopolis, Michigan, on July 1 to break ground on a new manufacturing facility for Fibrosan. The project marks a strategic pivot for the Turkish-owned firm, which aims to anchor its North American supply chain through local production of glass-reinforced plastics.

The facility is slated to begin operations in March 2027, initially creating 35 full-time positions across engineering, logistics, and manufacturing roles. Fibrosan CEO Erim Yucel described the milestone as the result of a two-decade effort to refine the company’s market presence, noting that the site is intended to serve as a hub for the RV, automotive, and construction industries. By shifting production closer to its North American clients, the company expects to mitigate the risks associated with global supply chain volatility and provide more predictable, just-in-time delivery.

Beyond immediate production needs, the company has already outlined a Phase 2 expansion plan designed to triple the site’s capacity as demand grows. The Michigan location will also facilitate closer research and development collaborations with regional partners, allowing Fibrosan to iterate on product designs based on local feedback. For the Cassopolis community, the investment represents a long-term commitment to industrial growth, with further details regarding hiring timelines expected to follow in the coming months.
