He credits Romijn with forcing him to quit smoking fourteen years ago by threatening to withhold physical affection until he sought help through hypnosis. Despite initial skepticism toward the $800 session, O’Connell reported that the procedure was immediately effective, leaving him unable to light a cigarette afterward.
