Solbasium Debuts Quantum Roller with Swappable Battery Tech

San Diego-based Solbasium is launching the Quantum Roller, a recovery device that merges myofascial rolling with dual red and near-infrared light therapy. By integrating 90 high-powered LEDs directly into a compression system, the startup aims to shorten recovery times for athletes and clinicians through deep-tissue cellular stimulation.

The device distinguishes itself through a patented, removable battery system designed to eliminate the downtime typical of traditional recovery tools. This modular approach allows for continuous operation in high-traffic training facilities and clinics, marking a departure from the static design of standard vibrating rollers. The unit utilizes bodyweight to press the light source against target muscles, joints, and connective tissue, theoretically increasing the depth and efficacy of the light delivery.

"Recovery technology has remained largely unchanged for decades," said Bradley Carden, Founder and CEO of Solbasium. "We set out to create an entirely new category by combining foam rolling, tissue compression, red light therapy, and a removable battery system into a single device."

Solbasium plans to bring the device to market via a Kickstarter campaign next month, with entry-level pricing starting at $249. The company has scheduled pilot production for October 2026, targeting full-scale distribution by early 2027. Beyond the hardware, Solbasium has committed 2% of total sales to the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation to support research into less toxic treatments for children.
