Headlands Research Acquires Clinical Trials Research to Boost Network

The two California sites, now rebranded as Headlands Research - Sacramento and Headlands Research - CTR Lincoln, bring a proven track record in Phase I-IV trials. Their work covers a diverse range of indications including hypertension, type 2 diabetes, obesity, and fatty liver disease. By integrating these locations, Headlands aims to scale its patient recruitment capabilities while maintaining the high-quality data standards that sponsors expect.

Dr. Jeffrey D. Wayne, who has served as a principal investigator since 1992, will continue his involvement following the transition. A board-certified internist and clinical faculty member at the University of California, Davis, Dr. Wayne noted that the merger provides the necessary infrastructure to expand the therapeutic research offerings available to the local community. Headlands CEO Kyle Burtnett highlighted that the move is specifically designed to leverage the established trust and deep operational history that the CTR team has cultivated over the past 25 years.
