Monster Energy Athletes Dominate X Games Sacramento Opener

The MoonPay X Games League kicked off its 2026 summer season in Sacramento with a dominant display from Monster Energy athletes, who secured 24 medals across three days of competition. The team claimed seven gold, seven silver, and ten bronze medals while pushing technical boundaries in BMX, Moto X, and skateboarding.

The inaugural event at Cal Expo showcased 90 global athletes competing in the newly established team-based league. Arisa Trew emerged as a standout performer, securing dual gold medals in Women's Skateboard Park and Women's Skateboard Vert Best Trick. Her performance included a switch McTwist that tied the record for most gold medals in women's X Games history.

Ryan Williams solidified his status in the BMX circuit, taking gold in the Dave Mirra BMX Park Best Trick and the BMX Dirt Best Trick. His victory in the latter involved a never-been-done frontflip cannonball front bikeflip. Meanwhile, Moto X rider Julien Vanstippen successfully defended his gold medal in the Best Whip category, while newcomer Miharu Ozawa made an immediate impact by winning the Women's BMX Park gold in her debut. The league now shifts its focus to Japan, with the next stage of the XGL season scheduled for July 4–5.
